چکیده
Let R be the set of real numbers and D be a subset of the positive real numbers. The distance graph G(R, D) is a graph with the vertex set R and two vertices x and y are adjacent if and only if |x − y| ∈ D. In this work, the vertex arboricity (i.e., the minimum number of subsets into which the vertex set V (G) can be partitioned so that each subset induces an acyclic subgraph) of G(R, D) is determined for D being an interval between 1 and δ. c © 2006 Elsevier Ltd. For a given graph G, the square of G, denoted by G2, is a graph with the vertex set V(G) such that two vertices are adjacent if and only if the distance of these vertices in G is at most two. A graph G is called squared if there exists some graph H such that G= H2. A function f:V(G) {0,1,2…, k} is called a coloring of G if for every pair of vertices x,yV(G) with d(x,y)=1 we have |f(x)-f(y)|2 an...

An edge-coloring of a graph G with consecutive integers c1, . . . , ct is called an interval t-coloring if all colors are used, and the colors of edges incident to any vertex of G are distinct and form an interval of integers. A graph G is interval colorable if it has an interval t-coloring for some positive integer t. The set of all interval colorable graphs is denoted by N. In 2004, Giaro and...

متن کاملInterval edge colorings of some products of graphs
An edge coloring of a graph G with colors 1, 2, . . . , t is called an interval t-coloring if for each i ∈ {1, 2, . . . , t} there is at least one edge of G colored by i, and the colors of edges incident to any vertex of G are distinct and form an interval of integers. A graph G is interval colorable, if there is an integer t ≥ 1 for which G has an interval t-coloring. Let N be the set of all i...
متن کاملAlgorithms for Finding Distance-Edge-Colorings of Graphs
For a bounded integer , we wish to color all edges of a graph G so that any two edges within distance have different colors. Such a coloring is called a distance-edge-coloring or an -edge-coloring of G. The distance-edge-coloring problem is to compute the minimum number of colors required for a distance-edge-coloring of a given graph G. A partial k-tree is a graph with tree-width bounded by a f...
